Who are Villainous?

Villainous is a collective of skilled artists from the south of England, bringing an exceptional and fresh vision to the drum and bass scene.

Specialising in energetic jump up DnB, Villainous was founded by Vylan to share the music he was passionate about and help expand the reach of a scene that’s full of love, energy and positivity.

Later, Vylan expanded the team with the addition of LSX, a talented DJ from Portsmouth known for his astounding track selection.

Vylan began releasing music on SoundCloud, including tracks like ‘Unphased’ and his bootleg of Anne-Marie & Aitch’s ‘Psycho’, which eventually led to an official remix of Anne-Marie & Shania Twain’s ‘Unhealthy’ on Warner Music. This milestone pushed Vylan’s drive for jump up drum and bass even further, leading to releases on labels like Sinyster Audio (‘Drop It’) and Matrix Audio (‘Squeeze Off’) before re-focusing on Villainous with his ‘Skepta - Man’ bootleg.

Villainous really locked in 2023, when Vylan met Psyclone at the Moonshine venue, where he opened for a night headlined by Disrupta and organised by Eclipse. Vylan and Psyclone began producing and DJing together, forming a strong creative bond and dropping tracks like ‘Shotgun’.

Since then, Villainous DJs have played shows in Reading, Portsmouth, Southampton, Leicester, Brighton, and Basingstoke, always bringing high vibes and inspiring crowds and fellow artists alike.
